When buying patio doors it is always worth asking how secure they are and comparing similar doors side by side from a security point of view. The main feature you should be concerned with is the quality of the lock on the patio door. Good quality patio doors come with proper locks that are similar to those on your front door and many feature additional internal locks such as top and bottom dead bolts for additional security.
If possible buy patio doors that are made from high quality toughened glass, not only will this keep burglars out it will also keep your family safe. If someone walks into toughened glass by mistake it should not break.
